Home Communion Ministers
At times in our lives we are physically unable to be present in worship, yet are still a part of the body of Christ and need to receive the gifts of worship: Holy Communion, prayer and fellowship. Receive training to bring these gifts of God’s grace from Sunday worship once a month to those who are homebound. Contact a pastor if you are interested in this privilege and blessing of being and bringing Christ’s presence to others.
Prayer Shawls and Creative Blessings Ministry
We meet year round on the 2nd Saturday of each month at 9:30 am at Zion. Come knit, crochet and sew prayer shawls for celebrations and comfort. We are presently providing shawls for baptisms, graduations, weddings, homebound, hospitalizations, care-givers, deaths, etc. There is no needle craft experience necessary, simply a willingness to spread prayer and care through various gifts. Included at each meeting are a bible lesson, prayer and discussion. Over 200 shawls and scarfs have been made and given to member and non-members alike.
Quilt Tiers
By reusing, recycling and repurposing donated fabric we make “green quilts”. Quilts are given to people needing warmth through the House of Neighborly Service, Interfaith Hospitality Network and Lutheran World Relief. No experience necessary! We meet on the 3rd Thursday of each month at 9:30 am in the fellowship hall.
