ZION’S ENDOWMENT FUND PROGRAMS
The purpose of Zion’s Endowment Fund is to promote faithful Christian stewardship of all resources in perpetuity, while providing opportunities to enhance the mission and ministry of the congregation, synod, and churchwide expressions beyond what is expected and supported through regular giving.
Zion’s Endowment is organized into four main programs:
Special Projects – the purpose is to enhance the youth, worship, educational, and leadership ministry
focus of Zion Lutheran Church by providing activities in those areas that are not funded in the annual operating budget of this congregation.
Mission Outreach – the purpose is to support mission projects of the ELCA at home or internationally, including but not limited to: grants to the ELCA for new mission development in North America, professional leadership development, educational ministries, world mission, media
evangelism and capital financing.
Community Outreach – the purpose is to reach out into the community through, but not limited to, sponsorship grants to social service agencies, institutions to which this congregation relates, and to special programs designed for those persons in our parish area who are in spiritual and/or economic
need.
Property and Building – the purpose is for exceptional maintenance or upgrading of Zion’s physical plant facilities.
